Course Maps and Descriptions below:

Riders will compete in their respective age-group based on their official racing age determined on December 31, 2023.

17-18 Course Info (8:30 am start):

Neutral start at Tommy V Field (behind Crested Butte Community School) to 9th Street to Elk Avenue where riders will make a right turn and then a quick left to access the Rec Path – please note the race start will not be using the boardwalk bridge to McCormick Ranch Road.

Instead of heading up the Rec Path, continue to Teocalli and take a left up to 8th Street. Take a right on 8th Street to Butte Avenue where you make a left turn. Cross Gothic Road (at the STOP sign there will be a crossing guard and everyone will WALK across this road) continue over Butte Bridge, take a right to reconnect with the Perimeter Trail.  Continue to Peanut Lake Road.  Race timing will start HERE.

Race continues on Peanut Lake Road to the “Alien Shack” where riders take a left to join the Lower Loop Connector Trail to access the Lower Loop trail. Riders will take the singletrack option (not wide path) to Lower Lower Loop to the Upper Lower Loop trail (sorry, we didn’t name the trails). At the end of Upper Lower Loop you pop out on Gunsight Pass where you will take a left for just a minute before jumping on the GB Loop trail. Take GB Loop back to Gunsight Pass road where you will continue down on gravel, wrapping around to your left to cross the Gunsight Bridge. Head straight up the steep/rutted road to get to Slate River Road where riders turn right and remain on road for approximately .5 miles to get to the Lupine 2 Trailhead. Head up Lupine 2 trail to Smith Hill Road where you will turn left to climb up dirt/gravel Smith Hill road to the Gunsight Connector trail. Shred down the Gunsight Connector trail back to Slate River Road, down the steep hill, and back the same way you came from the GB Loop.  Pretty quickly after exiting the GB Loop, riders will make a right onto the Upper Lower Loop trail where they will continue to Budd trail that will end in a three-way intersection of the Woods Walk/Budd/Connector trails.

From this intersection, riders will NOT take the Woods Walk trail but make a slight left to get back onto Peanut Lake Road at the “Alien Shack” where they will take a right and punch it to the finish line.  This decision is for rider safety and racer experience, we want to give these competitive riders room for safe passing and not get caught up in young racer traffic at the finish. Get ready for some FAST sprint finishes – it’s going to be AWESOME!!  RED BIBS w/RED COURSE MARKINGS
